Virginity Matters! But Should it be?
This article isn’t about virginity. It’s about the mindset of the society linked to a stigma.
People believe in the concept of virginity in various ways-
- Some say it is just for penis-in-vagina sex. But what about others-oral and anal sex. Think about the gays and lesbians in which it is even not possible. Do you still think that “Virginity” is a physical concept? I think it is a social and psychological concept.
- Boys like their wives to be virgins. Vice-versa may be true but boys are very conscious about the virginity of the girl they are dating. Sometimes it may lead to divorce if boys find their wives to be non-virgins. The opposite may not be true.
- Society judges the girls based on their virginity. The no. of times a girl had sex is kept in mind by the people of the society. This is insane.
- Even if a girl is loyal to you…Does virginity still matter? Well, it depends from person to person.
The concept of virginity is different for everyone. But does it mean that it should matter at all?
I personally think that it must not matter. A girl who might have sex with a guy at any age shouldn’t be judged by society. Guys feel proud of losing virginity but girls feel guilty. It is bad. Very bad.
One of the greatest problems in today's modern world is loneliness. It wakes you in the dark and hurts in the day. The age of marriage is increasing with the age of industrialisation¹.
Biology says a boy achieves sexual maturity at the age of 12–16 and a girl even lesser at 10–14 years. The age of marriage is increasing because of being perfect before the marriage. Money and carrier became more important than marriage and sexual life.
Sexual urge starts from the time of sexual maturity. It is us that created the conditions to resist us from engaging. It’s our fault, not biology’s. Why should we stop ourselves from engaging in sex because of a society that likes virgins? Man and woman have been developed to be engaged in sex and to live together and not for a job of Amazon.
Virginity doesn’t make any sense in today’s world. In the increasing frustration world of today, why do we need to stop ourselves? A custom may make sense in the ancient world to maintain their bloodline, but it can’t be continued in today’s world as the marriage age is increasing.
Be Biological and Emotional first, Economical and Psychological later. Being rich wasn’t Biology’s Business. It was you that created the problem.
